The Touring model is the top-of-the-line trim for the Outback. The exterior body looks very good with only a few very minor imperfections visible. The interior looks great; it was not smoked inside and almost no wear is visible.
This Outback comes with all service records since new and it was very well maintained. It drives without issues and AC is cold. Everything works as intended and it does not have any warning lights illuminated in the dashboard. The Michelin tires are like new and the brakes work as they should.
Subaru updated the 2018 model with: revised grille, front bumper, headlights, and front body cladding. It also upgraded some interior features, the infotainment system with a larger screen and more tech options.
The Outback is powered by a 3.6L horizontally-opposed 6-cylinder, which generates 256 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque. It drives all four wheels through a continuously variable automatic transmission, which has steering-wheel-mounted buttons to emulate a six-speed manually shifted transmission when the driver desires.
It has abundant Power (unlike the base 2.5L 4-cylinder model) and offers immediate, lag-free acceleration for highway passing and mountain driving. When tested on the track it sprinted to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds, a significant 2.5 seconds quicker than the flat-four's time of 9.4 seconds. The fuel economy is at aprox 21mpg City and 28mpg Hwy.
Not only did the 2018 Outback receive the highest five-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA, the IIHS considers it a 2018 Top Safety Pick+, its highest designation. Getting the Top Safety Pick+ rating is not easy, but the Outback did it by getting the highest rating of Good in all six crash tests.
